We are setting the student entry limit at twenty-four (24)
to ensure all students get the maximum numbers of runs. The school 'curriculum' will be divided into three (3) separate
stations with groups of students spending about 45-50 minutes
at each. Students and instructors will rotate stations to
give everyone some time at each discipline. The station scenarios
will be as follows:
Station 1: Launch and tight radius corners.
Work on your launching skills. Knowing how to pick the right spot on the line,
and how much wheel spin to have is a good thing. We will show you how much is
too much.
The tight radius corner approach is all about speed vs. distance.
Generally speaking, cutting the distance is usually better, but is somewhat
dependent on course conditions during the run. You will learn how to best
take these elements.
Station 2: Offsets / Slalom
Learning to get through these elements while keeping the car as straight as
possible is the key. The more the tail wags, the worse off you’ll be.
Practice make perfect and you will get lots of it.
Station 3: Large Radius Sweeper / Drift positioning
Driving the car sideways the entire run is fun and looks cool, but is not
the fastest way around. However knowing when/how/where to use drifting will
help your run times drop. Learn when and how to use those drifting skills
you’ve seen on TV.
After everyone has rotated through the stations, we will break one hour for lunch.
After lunch will we join the elements together to form a typical course where
students will try their hand at what they’ve learned. We will break into two (2)
separate groups run/work as usual with the numbers of runs per to be determined.

options. First of all, there are a variety of hotel options within a 10 mile radius.
Here's a link to local hotels.
Alternatively, camping will be permitted onsite at Orange County Speedway
for those who are interested. No campfires, though- sorry! It is likely at
this point that campers will be able to use the bathrooms at the track, and possibly even
get a shower. I will get confirmation on that for y'all this week.
