Thanks to the ever-considerate Allen family, we're
back at Four Oaks again, and the grass is still tall.
It hasn't been mowed because we'd rather make a couple
of fun courses than operate a bushhog, and the courses
are nothing if not fun.
The grass prevents looking ahead, so coursewalks are
important. Stage notes won't be available, either. In
addition to the ruts, the wily and elusive cadmia
conus americanus is known to inhabit the area. It
uses the grasses to hide from its only known predator,
automobilius familiaris. Apart from stealth,
its defenses include the usual time penalty and
tasting really, really terrible.
The course is down to one crossover from two, but
retains the ever-popular long sweepers at the finish.
The tall cones marking the finish (conus americanus
humongous) are protected under the Endangered Road
Fauna Act, so watch yourself so that you don't take
out a finish cone and get awarded the ever-popular DNF
and a 90 second bogey time for doing so.
Just a reminder that rally tires, snow tires, and other knobby
tires, as is our current policy, are not allowed
at this event. Christine Allen will be serving burgers or
hot dogs, chips, drinks and desserts for the usual $5.
Online registration is highly encouraged and can be found
