These were our rains for the Pro Solo Finale and Nationals. They are actually better than new. They were heat cycled by the Tire Rack *and* we put 3 runs on the set at the practice course to make sure they were scrubbed and ready to go in the wet, since it looked like rain for Day #1.

We currently have 4 sets of tires for the car, so we have way more rubber than we can burn up for a while. These cost me about $610 shipped from Tire Rack so you're saving over $200. You'll have a hard time finding a better tire than this ever. We're in Hillsborough right between I-40 and I-85 so it's an easy pick-up. If we don't get any takers we'll just use them as our rains for next year, but I prefer to clear some room out in the garage.

Scrubbing rain tires is not a good move. Seriously keep the tread blocks as sharp and wear free as possible. Toyo was adament about this when i worked for a WCTC team. Still a good deal. GLWS

You may be right but driving on the release compound is certainly a bad idea in the dry so I don't know why it would be better in the rain? Also, Tire Rack staff and everyone else I've talked to over the years has concurred to get the release compound scrubbed off and get the tire slightly roughed. Besides, after you drive the tire a few times its going to roughed up anyway, even in the wet. I'm wrong a lot so I'd be interested to hear more and from other sources that this is a common practice since it doesn't seem to be the case in autox.
